BIOGRAPHY

Sasson is a Seattle based ensemble which integrates traditional Jewish musical idioms with contemporary forms from around the world. “We strive for an innovative sound that is both modern and in touch with what is happening in the arts today, while remaining true to the roots of Jewish music.” Drawing on elements from a wide array of Yiddishkeit including Klezmer, Chassidus, Carlebach, Mizrachi and Ladino (Middle Eastern) music; and adding a touch of Samba, Reggae, and Cumbia; Sasson brings a refreshingly new approach to traditional melodies from around the Jewish world.
